This is my completed double page spread. I have added writing since my last stage. I have written the questions in a light grey colour and the answers in white to show the difference between the question and the answer which will make it easier for the reader to read and understand. Although i have five different colours on this page they all compliment each other which makes the colour scheme work.

This is my first stage to my double page spread. I am planning to write on the big black block in the middle of the page. I will be writing in white font so it stands out. Althrough my magazine i have kept to the same colours this is so the pages flow on from each other and the reader reconises this magazine issue by the colours. I have also added three images onto my double page spread, I didnt add alot of photographs because i didnt want my page to be cluttered with images. I also added a boarder around the images to add more bright colours to the page and to make the images look neat.
This is my final stage to my contents magazine. I have added three images to the right hand side of the page, I choose to put the images on the black background to make them stand out as the photographs are quite colourful. The photograps are of males and females at parties having fun. I have also added page numbers and details of what the magazine contains. I have kept my colour scheme from the front cover through to the contents page.

This is the second stage to my contents magazine. As you can see i have added the subtitles to my contents. The magazine is full of a range of things interviews that lastest news, reviews etc.

This is the first stage for my contents page. i have split the page into two section one one side is black the other is white. I have done this because i am going to put my wirting on one side of the page and my images on the other. I have also written un-luggeds initials to show the audience that even though the masthead has been shotened it is still a reconisable successful magazine.

This is my final magazine front cover. Since my last stage i have added more straplines, an issue date and a pug. My pug will attract people to it straight away as it is bold and there is a prize to win. My magazine is issue two out of three magazines that my group have created. Along the right hand side i have added well known artists names to attract people to my magazine and show them that it hip and up to date. I have also added "Misfits" which is a band we made up for another issue of our magazine. I have made the "25" blue to tie in with the colour scheme and to also make it stand out as it is an important strapline.

This is my third stage to my front cover. I have now added a kicker and strapline along the bottom of the page. I choose to write "Goldieeloxx" big and bold beacuse the interview with golideeloxx is going to be on my double page spread and i thought it was a main feature of the magazine. The graffiti effect i have gone for with the Golideeloxx kicker is ment to make the magazine trendy and fresh and atrract out target aundience 16-25's, it also looks very interesting. I went with greys and white for my font as it would show up well on the black background of my strapline.

This is the second stage of my magazine front cover i have added tht masthead. The title of my magazine is "un-plugged" we choose this title as a group as it relates to music, I choose a blue and white colour for the mast head as the model is wearing blue and white in her outfit and so there not to many colours being used.

This is the image i started off with for my magazine front cover. I have decided to change my whole layout of my magazine cover i have previously uploaded. I am now keeping the brick wall as my background for my main image this is because as i am working in a group the magazines will go much better together if i keep this background instead of a plain block colour this is because our magazine theme is urban and vibrant.

I have choose this background colour as the models clothes and the background colour compliment each other. I have also added a bar code onto the bottom right hand corner this is to make it look realistic and professional. The masthead It large and bold to stand out i choose the colour white beacuse it blends in with the colour scheme. All three of my groups magazines have some part of the masthead covered this is so well known and popular with readers and can be reconised without all of the word showing.

This is one of the photos we took, and as a group we considered it for the front cover. We liked the colourful costumes and the background wasn't too busy. We also liked the relaxed and urban poses of the models. However we decided not to use this image because one of the girls is already used in one of our other front covers in the same outfit, and we have to have 3 different issues of the magazine with 3 different images.

This is one of the photographs we considered as a front cover for our magazines. We liked this image as the back ground and the bright funky clothes on the model contrast with each other and make the model the main featue of the magazine. It also looks urban which ties in with the genre of the magazine. This image has the conventions of a normal magazine (rule of third) However the reason we never choose this image was beacuse we wanted the model to be on the other side of the camera shot so it would be simple to put he strapline on the left handside.

This is a simple layout for a magazine. It contains a masthead a main image, a skyline, a kicker and a few strap lines. The magazine has a plain background which makes the main images of the women and the strap lines stand out more.
The masthead is one of the key features of this magazine. It is big and bold which makes it stands out. There is alot of colours in this magazine which isn't a usual convention of a front cover, there is normally three main colours but this front cover is different The blue masthead and fergie's outfit is one of the main colours. There is also green, white red and a vintage style wallpaper in the background. Although there is alot of colours going on in the magazine, the layout is quite simple there is only one main image, the strap lines are plain and straight to the point. I think if there was anymore images it would spoil the front cover and make it look to busy and cramped.

Here is another issue of the rock magazine 'NME'. As you can see from the previous magazine i analysed the magazine editors have kept the colour scheme the same: Red, black, white and bits of yellow. This is so it is recognised by the buyers. Compared to the other magazine, this front cover is quite empty, It has one large kicker and main image. This is what our eyes are drawn to at first because of the rule of third. There is no strap lines which is unusual for magazines because they show the readers what the magazine contains which sells the magazine. But i think that this layout is very effective because it is a well known magazine brand, As you can see half on the mast head is covered this is because the title can be recognised without seeing all of it because it is a popular magazine that is familiar worldwide. The costume that has been chosen for lily Allen reflects the colour scheme of the magazine the red and black compliment each other which makes the magazine stand out.

This is a rock magazine that would target teenagers and Young adults that are into rock music, gossip and artists. There are three main colors in this magazine they are: Red, black and white. The two main things that stand out in this front cover is the Main image and the kicker. The main image has the rule of third principle. It draws the reader in because the women takes up alot of the page and has eye contact with he audience. The women links in with he colour scheme her lipstick is red, her hair is black and her skin is fair which ties in with he rest of the magazine. Also the another thing that stands out is the kicker this is because it is big and bold. The contrast between the black and the white colour theme make it a key feature of the magazine, The font has a worn effect. The whole of the magazine is packed full of information, you can tell this by the kicker, strap lines and skyline.

Mock up of magazine front cover:

This is mock up that i hand drew and then scanned into he computer. As you can see i have stuck to this plan, The only things that i have changed is that my main image has two people on instead of three and i have no pug in the top right hand corner of my front cover.

Contents Page:

This is my contents page for my magazine. It shows what my magazine contains and what pages it is on. I have kept the colour scheme through out the magazine this is so the pages flow on from each other. I have also kept the font the same. I added stripes to the bottom of the page to make it more interesting for the reader and to keep the colour scheme.

Final design:

This is my final magazine front cover. I have stuck to three main colours on my magazine. I choose green as my background colour and black and red for my font colour. I used these colours because they are up to date and funky which will attract my target aundience. Also my straplines apply to all students for example " top 10 revision tips" will attract students and help them with there work. Another one of my straplines is " common room gossip" this concerns all students and will draw them into to buying my magazine.

Second Stage:

This is the second stage to my college magazine front cover. As you can see I've added 3 different strap lines. Ive placed three images onto a Polaroid background this is to make the front cover More exciting and modern. Ive kept the captions short and sweet so its not to boring for the target audience which are students. I also added the masthead "Freshhh" i decided to go with this name for my magazine because its a brand new magazine that has a funky name to relate to students. I exaggerated the word "Freshhh" and added two other "H's" to emphasize the the meaning behind the masthead.

Analysis:

This image shows a pair of legs and a skate board on a green blurred background. The background is blurred to show movement of the skate board and person. This is effective because it makes the image more interesting and create a sense of movement to the photograph.

Magazine sample:

I used photo shop to create this magazine front cover. For the main image i decided to pick a well known celebrity girl band (Girls Aloud) this will attract my target audience which is females over 16. For my masthead i choose to copy a successful magazine title "OK!" the slogan reflects the strap lines and image "first for celebrity news." You can see i kept the colour scheme the same throughout the whole magazine cover. which makes it look professional and realistic.
On photo shop i used the magnetic lasso tool to cut out my images and remove the background from them to add them to my magazine. You can see Ive done this with the image in the top right hand corner of my magzine.
